Knowledge Equals Success
In 1996 the Michigan Golf Course Owners Association created a separate tax exempt foundation with a mission of "providing training, education and professional development for Michigan golf course owners and operators." Because of the generous initial financial support from the Scott family of Gull Lake View Golf Course in Augusta, the Foundation was named in their honor.

The core belief of the MGCOA "Scott Family" Educational Support Foundation is that continuing education opportunities are vital to the success of golf course owners and operators.

Activities of the ESF
The Foundation provides low cost seminars and training programs for owners and key employees. Past programs include: Teamwork & Employee Recognition; Making $$ from Hot Dogs to Banquets; Training & Management; Security & Employee Safety; and Marketing & Promoting Your Golf Facility.

Additionally, the Foundation helps underwrite the cost of presentations by nationally recognized speakers at our Annual Conference. Past speakers and topics include T. Scott Gross (Positively Outrageous Service), Dr. Ron Cichy (The Magic of Training), Don Smith (The Coach Makes the Difference) and Dr. Roger Blackwell (Understanding Consumer Behavior).

Commitment to the Future
Help fulfill the mission of the MGCOA "Scott Family" Educational Support Foundation by supporting our efforts. Both individual and business contributions are tax deductible. You can make either a one-time contribution and become a Friend of the Foundation, or support us as a Sustaining Member with a three-year package.

Levels of Giving

Sustaining Members:
Support your industry's development and growth through a three-year commitment of giving.

Benefactor
Three-year pledge of $7,500 or $2,500 annually. In appreciation we will give you an annual credit of $500 for three years that can be applied toward your participation at your Foundation events and seminars.

Patron
Three-year pledge of $3,000 or $1,000 annually with a $200 education credit annually.

Sponsor
Three-year pledge of $1,500 or $500 annually with a $100 education credit annually.

Friend of the Foundation
Support your industry's development with a contribution of any size or frequency of giving.
